Yes. Our service is designed to maintain the original layout, fonts, and styling of your document, minimizing the need for post-translation edits.

Due to how LLMs work, we cannot guarantee that a translation will be 100% accurate. That said, these engines often produce more natural results compared to direct translation engines like Google Translate. We encourage you to review your translated documents for any potential errors.

Shorter documents can often be processed in seconds, while larger projects may take longer. Translation time varies based on document length, language, and your chosen translation engine. Larger models may improve translation quality but typically require more processing time.

Yes. Use the advanced options to specify document genre for more accurate style and terminology.

Yes. Your monthly translation limits depend on your subscription tier. Please check our Pricing page for details. If you hit a limit, new translations are blocked until your cycle resets or you upgrade.

You can’t issue new translations until your plan cycle resets. Upgrade your subscription or wait for the next cycle.

Otules offers three paid tiers: Starter, Pro, and Pro Plus. Higher tiers give you more pages, more engine options, and priority support. There's also a free tier with limited usage. Upgrades mid-period are prorated, meaning the unused time from your current plan reduces the cost of your new one. Check the Pricing page for full details.

Absolutely. We encrypt all uploaded documents and follow strict data privacy policies. Your documents are automatically deleted upon account closure, ensuring your sensitive information remains protected.

From My Profile, choose the delete option. This permanently removes your documents and cancels your subscription immediately, forfeiting any remaining time.

The maximum file size depends on your plan. Free accounts can upload files up to [X] MB, Starter up to [X] MB, Pro up to [X] MB, and Pro Plus up to [X] MB.

Otules currently supports Word '.docx', Excel '.xlsx', Powerpoint '.pptx', and Portable Document Format '.pdf' files.

We support translations in over 100 languages. The full list depends on your selected translation engine.

We support engines from Google (Translate and Gemini), OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), DeepSeek, and DeepL. The available models are updated regularly. You can see the full list when you set up a translation.

Each engine offers different advantages in speed, cost, and accuracy. You can select based on your project’s requirements. Many users find certain engines more accurate for specific languages or genres, so we encourage you to experiment and see which works best for you.

Yes. Paid plans support simultaneous operations. The number of concurrent jobs depends on your plan tier. Simply start a new translation while your current tasks are running, and track their progress in your Workspace.

Advanced options let you customize how your document is translated so you can get the most accurate results. For example, you can choose a document genre to improve terminology accuracy. For PDF files, you can choose a processing mode or enable strict size mode to prevent text blocks from being resized. For PowerPoint files, you can choose to resize text so it fits better within boxes. For Excel files, you can choose to translate the results of Excel formulas.

No. Your translation will continue in the background. When you return, you’ll find the translated document ready to download.

Your documents’ encryption key is derived from your password. We never store your password, so Otules can only decrypt your documents for translation while you’re logged in. Outside of that, no one, including us, can read your files.

Yes. You can select multiple documents in different source languages and translate them all into the same target language in one batch operation.

There are three levels. Quick uses heuristics for fast processing. Balanced adds LLM-based line break detection for better accuracy. Advanced builds on Balanced by running OCR to fix broken or missing glyphs. For most documents, Balanced is a good default. Use Advanced for scanned PDFs or documents with unusual fonts. Note that Advanced mode is only available on paid plans.

Weighted characters are how Otules measures translation usage. Different engines have different cost multipliers, so translating the same document with a more expensive engine uses more of your monthly allowance. You can see the exact multiplier and projected usage before you confirm any translation.

Yes. The maximum number of pages per PDF depends on your plan. Free accounts can translate PDFs up to [X] pages, Starter up to [X] pages, Pro up to [X] pages, and Pro Plus up to [X] pages.
Troubleshooting

Problems and recovery

Use this section when an upload fails, a translation stalls, or the resulting document does not look right.

It's possible your provider flagged the email as spam. Check your spam folder, and if you still can’t find it, contact us so we can assist in confirming your email.

When detecting a document’s language, certain words may appear in multiple languages and cause confusion. If this happens, you can choose the correct source language when setting up your translation.

Uploading may take some time, especially for large files. Please be patient, or refresh the page to check if the upload has completed.

If the progress remains stuck this way for more than a few minutes, please submit a support ticket, and we’ll investigate as soon as possible.

Because LLMs are probabilistic, engines can produce incorrect translations in some parts of a document. However, if you notice significant translation or formatting issues, please submit a support ticket, and we’ll investigate as soon as possible.

If you believe the resolution was not satisfactory, you may reopen or resubmit the ticket. Please note, however, that we cannot guarantee a different outcome if the issue remains the same.

We do not keep copies of files once you request deletion. This means that deleted documents cannot be recovered by our team.

No. Unfortunately, losing your account also means losing the encryption key, so your documents cannot be decrypted.

PDFs are the hardest format to preserve during translation because of how they store layout information. Some differences are expected, especially with complex layouts or scanned documents. If the result looks significantly wrong, submit a support ticket and we'll take a look.
Billing

Plans and limits

Questions about pricing, subscriptions, and usage limits.

If you don’t cancel during the trial, your Starter subscription starts automatically and the first billing cycle begins. You can cancel anytime from Billing before the trial ends to avoid charges.

Prorated upgrades take effect immediately. You pay only the difference for the rest of your current period — the unused time from your old plan lowers the price of the new one.

Your limits increase right away. We prorate the remaining days in your cycle to add a proportional amount of the higher plan’s limits for the rest of the period.

On your billing renewal date and time (the same timestamp shown in Billing). The new cycle starts with a fresh allowance.

Downgrades are scheduled for your next renewal. You keep your current plan’s limits and features until the end of the current period.

When you cancel a subscription, you keep access to it until the end of the current billing period. When you delete your account, your subscription is canceled immediately and you forfeit the remaining time. All documents are permanently removed.

No cash refunds. Subscriptions are non-refundable (except where required by law). However, at our discretion we may issue usage-limit adjustments as a support resolution.

Major credit/debit cards (via Stripe). You can update your payment method anytime from the Manage Billing.

Yes, contact us for volume limits, consolidated billing, and custom terms.

No. Your weighted-character allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle. Unused characters do not carry over.
